Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
The DIY Veteran ("we," "us," or "the site") is operated as a creator-driven DIY repair and tool review website. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Contact form — if you use our contact page, we receive your name, email, topic, optional company or website, and message so we can reply. On the live site, messages are emailed to the site owner and may also be stored as a backup on the server.
- Email address — only if you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter through a signup form. That data is processed by our email provider (for example Formspree, Buttondown, or similar) according to their privacy policy.
- Analytics data — if Google Analytics is enabled, we receive aggregated usage data such as pages visited, device type, and general location. We use this to improve content and understand what repairs readers need most.
- Affiliate click data — when you click an Amazon or other affiliate link, the merchant may record referral data. Amazon Associates reports clicks and conversions in your Associates dashboard; we may also log anonymous click events in analytics.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not require an account to read guides or browse tool reviews.
- We do not store payment information — purchases happen on Amazon or other merchants.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site are Amazon Associate links. If you purchase through those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This helps fund free repair guides and videos.
Cookies & third parties
Analytics and email providers may use cookies or similar technologies. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Third-party sites (Amazon, YouTube, email tools) have their own privacy policies.
